My name is Tom and I will be assisting you with your incident. Scope ---------- The scope of this case is to help resolve the following error when trying to run a test connection for Outlook Synchronization: “The connection to [DatabaseName] Microsoft Dynamics NAV Database Failed. The Program returned the following error: The response from Microsoft Dynamics NAV has not been received because of a connection timeout. Please check if the Microsoft Dynamics NAV server is running and try again later. If the problem persists increase the timeout value in the configuration file. Please contact your System Administrator." Environment ----------------- Dynamics NAV 5.0 SQL Server 2005 Windows Server 2003 Assessment ---------------- I have seen this issue in the past when the Application Server is not configured properly. The first thing to verify is that your NAS has been installed and has a startup parameter of "OSynch". Once the NAS id running, you will also want to verify the options in the Outlook Synch User Setup in NAV which is located in Administration | Microsoft Office Outlook Integration | Outlook Synch. User Setup. The detailed instructions on how to setup this option is on Pg. 94 of w1w1ism.pdf located in the Docs folder on the NAV 5.0 CD. In addition to the w1w1ism.pdf, I am attaching document "Check List for 5.0 Outlook Integration Installation.doc" which will also help you through the configuration. Plan ----------- I hope this information helps and please let me know if you have any further issues.
