Issue: When running the rename process of a user account after a delay the service in Dynamics 365 Financials errors with a blue screen and forces a restart.
Solution: The renaming of a user name in Dynamics 365 Financials requires the changing of all related posted entries in all companies as this is a validated table relationship to the Created and Modified By fields in entry records. This issue can be compounded by multiple companies in the tenant. The solution is to delete as many of the test companies as possible and attempt the change using IE browser which has a longer timeout setting.
Note: For all other processes our recommendation is to use Chrome as the performance is vastly better in this browser.
