What is a Progressive Web App?
Simply put, a Progressive Web App (PWA) is a website that can be installed as an app. This means that you can install the Dynamics 365 Business Central Web Client on your workstation and access it without having to open your browser, navigate to the login page and then connect. You can pin the app to your Start Menu and Taskbar to easily access it.
The Dynamics 365 Business Central PWA is now available and you can install it on your workstation from your browser.
Installing the Dynamics Business Central PWA from Edge
- Open Dynamics Business Central in Edge. IMPORTANT: Do NOT use an InPrivate window or the installation button will not be displayed.
- Click on the install button located at the right of the address bar and click on Install. That's all there is to it.
You can now find the app by using Search on your computer, and you can pin it for easier access.
Opening the app will open Business Central in its own window, without the clutter of the browser interface. Notice the absence of the address bar and other menus in this screenshot of the app:
Combined with the use of keyboard shortcuts , the app makes it easier to work with Business Central and to multi-task across multiple pages.
