Here’s an overview of what’s new or changed in the latest version of ODT Service, including solution revisions. 

 

If you self-manage updates, you should run the app update from your Business Central Admin Center. If you’re on the Update Protection Plan, this update will be applied for you.

New features & enhancements

New features and enhancements included in this release are: 

  • Addition of Resource Capacities chart into Visual Resource Scheduler.
  • The ability to scan or enter a service unit in a new Service Data Search menu option has been added, which provides a summary view of the service units and Service Ticket, Planned Maintenance, and Field Service Project documents that the service unit has been entered on. Users must have the applicable Permissions to run the Search - Company Data to use the Service Data Search.
  • An enhancement to Item/Service Unit integration has been made so that when a service unit is created linked from an inventory item, the warranty policy and picture will be copied to the new service unit.
  • The Project Prices & Discounts menu options have been added to the Service Ticket, Planned Maintenance, and Field Service Project.
  • The Fixed Asset card has been enhanced to show the linked Service Unit number.
  • When Service Unit is linked to Fixed Asset and change the Vendor or Manufacturer on either the Service Unit or the linked Fixed Asset the other will be automatically updated.
  • The Create Purchase Order action has been added to Service Ticket, Planned Maintenance and Field Service Project. The Create Purchase Order action from the task line can add purchase lines that are not related to what is already in the project, and can be an Item, G/L account or Resource.
  • The Service Ledger Entries page has been enhanced to show the Service Unit No. field.
  • Addition of work type codes on the template lines which will be transferred to the service ticket details.
  • A new Service Status option "Service Ticket Lock” has been addedwhich locks the Service Ticket, Planned Maintenance, and Field Service Project when the status is set to the header, but allows printing, confirming actual, and invoicing.
  • The Fixed Assets Statistics has been enhanced to show the Service cost of the linked Service Unit to the Fixed Asset.
  • The Ticket Units/Line has been enhanced to include the “Remaining(Total Cost)” and “Remaining(Total Price)” fields.
  • The Create Inventory and Warehouse Pick menu options have been added to Service Ticket, Planned Maintenance, and Field Service Project.
  • The WIP menu option has been added to Service Ticket, Planned Maintenance, and Field Service Project.
  • Addition of a Visual Resource Diary Scheduler.
  • The Service Template has been enhanced to use a No. Series when creating a new template, when there is a No. Series set up in the Service Management Setup.
  • The Service History List has been enhanced to show the ticket description and link to the related active tickets.

  

Solution revisions

Solution revisions included in this release are: 

  • When printing a checklistthe fields with a type of Option now print.
  • When adding a new service ticket detail lineusers will not be able to use a different service unit no. other than the assigned unit no. to the task line.
  • The Part Serial No. field is populated when using serialized items. The Serial No. field is populated from the Fixed Assets card.
  • When creating a Service Template, the template cannot be added as a child of itself.
  • When a Ticket No. is selected from the Planned Maintenance Worksheet, then the Planned Maintenance page opens.
  • When creating a Service Attribute, a name is required.
  • Notification tool tips have been revised.
